CuratedKW is a Waterloo Region–based digital media platform led by sisters Alyana and Tegan Versolatto, alongside Shirley and Cindy Luu. With a combined audience of over 100,000 followers, the team spotlights local restaurants, events, and experiences across Kitchener, Waterloo, and Cambridge. Their work connects residents with their community while helping small businesses grow through accessible, creative marketing. Recognized as Best Social Media in Waterloo Region (Community Edition), CuratedKW also serves as a preferred content creator for the Downtown Kitchener BIA. Their platform blends storytelling, community advocacy, and tourism promotion to celebrate and strengthen the region.

Knight Warriors Women's Cricket Team

The Knight Warriors Women’s Team exemplifies dedication to health and wellness through their inspiring commitment to balancing professional careers, family responsibilities, and personal well-being. As working women, they consistently prioritize fitness, teamwork, and an active lifestyle, demonstrating that maintaining health is achievable even amidst demanding schedules. Through regular participation in cricket, fitness routines, and team activities, they promote both physical and mental wellness within their community. Their discipline, resilience, and mutual support not only enhance their own well-being but also inspire others—especially women—to embrace healthier lifestyles. She Shares Women's Giving Circle

She Shares Women’s Giving Circle (She Shares) is a collective of engaged, empowered women who are shaping the future of healthcare in our community. Members not only give financially and create strength in group philanthropy, but they also enjoy giving back and partnering with the hospital and community in other ways; on committees, with the volunteer association, and by partnering with local retailers. To date, more than $530,000 has been raised by this incredible group of women to fund priority hospital equipment, benefiting this community for generations to come.

Shelter Movers Southwestern Ontario

Courtney and Ashley are the leadership team of Shelter Movers Southwestern Ontario and are dedicated to making the community a safer place. With diverse backgrounds and experiences, they lead a team of over 120 volunteers who have completed over 1,075 moves in Southwestern Ontario since December 2020, helping survivors of intimate partner and gender-based violence relocate to safety. Over the past year, they have also taken on leadership of the Greater Toronto team of 250 dedicated volunteers who have completed over 500 moves in the past year alone. Together, they coordinate logistics, provide support, and ensure each move is carried out with dignity and care. Their commitment to safety, empowerment, and community collaboration drives their mission to create a future free of violence, one move at a time.

Waterloo Region Family Network

The Waterloo Region Family Network (WRFN) team—made up of dedicated staff and volunteers—is a group of experienced women who bring deep, lived and professional expertise in navigating the disability support system. As parents, caregivers, and self-advocates, they understand firsthand the challenges families face and use that insight to guide others with compassion and clarity. Since 2009, WRFN has supported thousands of families across Waterloo Region by helping them access assessments, understand next steps following a diagnosis, navigate funding options, connect with programs and services tailored to their unique needs, and to connect with each other so families feel heard, supported, and less alone.

Women in Communications and Technology, Waterloo Chapter

Women in Communications and Technology (WCT) Waterloo Region is a volunteer-led professional community dedicated to advancing women in technology, communications, and innovation. The chapter provides mentorship, professional development, and leadership opportunities through programs such as Mentoring Circles, skill-building workshops, and community events. By connecting women across career stages—from students and early-career professionals to senior leaders—WCT helps build confidence, networks, and leadership pathways. Through collaboration with industry and community partners, the chapter contributes to a stronger and more inclusive technology ecosystem in Waterloo Region.

Women's Crisis Services of Waterloo Region
 

Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region (WCSWR) empowers and supports women, gender-diverse individuals and children to move beyond violence by providing safe shelter, outreach services, prevention and education. WCSWR operates two, large emergency shelters for women and children experiencing domestic violence: one in Kitchener and one in Cambridge. In addition to safe shelter, WCSWR offers free, confidential, outreach services for women who are experiencing domestic violence but do not require emergency shelter. WCSWR also provides public education to youth and adults in the community, with a focus on violence prevention. WCSWR serves all cities and townships in Waterloo Region.
