Bennies Prom

Bennies Prom Committee

When policy changes prevented some local high schools from hosting a prom, the St. Benedict’s Prom Committee stepped up to ensure their graduating class could still celebrate. The five young women who lead the committee (Aviana, Ciara, Daniella, Hannah, Makenna) lobbied the School Board and these efforts went viral in the local media, building positive momentum. The group has been working hard to design an event that all students can attend. They are considering everything from allergies, disabilities, varying backgrounds, and financial assistance. The focus on collaboration and inclusion will make prom most memorable as they celebrate ‘A Night in Old Hollywood’.
